Operation Super Hot Body

So a couple days ago I came to the realization that I am getting married in 3 months! It’s crunch time and I am nowhere near wedding body ready…so, with the support of my favorite fat buster buddy, Lynn, I joined the gym.

This is me with the ever wonderful Leesel who got me on the track to a hot bod! She just got married last month so she totally understands the need to be wedding ready.

Lynn has upcoming nuptials as well, so she is just as determined as I am to be hot. We joined the Irvine Equinox, just around the corner from our offices! No excuses anymore! It’s crunch time!

Before fitness shots coming soon…

Engagement Photo Love

Ok, so I don’t like to toot my own horn, but I am going to anyways. I need to share my engagement photos with you! Future husband and I were very surprised they turned out well due to the following reasons:

1. There were gale force winds (maybe not gale force, but close)

2. We both have cheesy smiles

3. We felt totally awkward having photos taken in a public setting

The photographer Jennifer Gilmore and her husband Brian made us feel so comfortable! They were the greatest, we can’t wait for them to take photos at our upcoming nuptials.

Enjoy! (click the pic to see more!)

TBIK!

So lately we have been noticing that when we take pictures together we look like a couple! Since I wear my hair up 90% of the time, I always look like a boy. Annoying! We can totally turn this into an entire post, and we will, but today we will not stray from TBIK. We actually took this picture yesterday because Aubrey is in Scottsdale at a bachelorette party today. Friday’s just aren’t the same without her! So sad.

Here is my solo TBIK picture – Aubrey! I miss you!

The Green Smoothie

They say sugar is addicting and I believe it’s true. That’s all I’ve been craving lately – I’d rather eat less of my meal and spend half an hour on the treadmill just to eat all the chocolate and cookies I desire.  Oh the struggle of loving food so much but still wanting that perfect body!    Yesterday afternoon I decided I needed to balance things out and that I would incorporate a green smoothie into my dinner to get some veggies back in the diet. 🙂

I found a great one on Guiliana Rancic’s (Love her by the way! Cancer, baby struggles and still so positive and fabulous!?) website Fabfitfun.com.  It is clean eating so it is full of whole foods, which I love! I tweaked the recipe a little using what I had on hand so here is my version.  Blend the following ingredients together:  1 ripe banana, 1 cup spinach/kale, 1/2 cup or so of almond/coconut milk, 1/2 of a 0% Fage Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon agave to sweeten,  1/4 cup orange juice and a handful of ice.   Try this version or your own for a quick, healthy energy boost.

Biggest. Pizza. Ever. – By The Slice.

So, you remember the biggest pizza ever, right? Well, did you know that if you dine in at the ever wonderful Pizza D’Oro that you can get the biggest pizza ever by the slice! That’s right! Cue the giant slice!

Future husband recently got a new job, which has offices conveniently located on the same street as my office! You know what that means! Lunch dates! He picked me up and instead of eating healthy as planned, we opted for pizza.

As you can see, I was very disappointed we had pizza (can you sense my sarcasm?). I love pizza. I would eat it any day, any time.

TBIK!

TBIK!!!!

We won’t let the fact that it’s raining or that it’s Friday the 13th get us down on a Friday!

Ultra Nails

I’ve always prided myself on having nice nails. I never bite them and always have them nicely manicured. But the past few months they have been acting a fool! They have been peeling and splitting. I have had to cut them way short and haven’t been painting them−GASP!

So, I did what any smart person would do and googled it.

Solution #1 – use a special nail polish to strengthen my nails. So, I headed off to ULTA and went to my tried and true brand O.P.I.

I found Nail Envy (for sensitive & peeling nails). You are supposed to apply 2 coats and then another coat every other day for a week. Then remove and start over. I tried it for a couple of weeks. It helped, but then my nails would just peel and everything would come off, the nail and the polish. On a lighter note, Nail Envy gives your nails a beautiful shine. I may continue to use it as a top coat, but at $20/bottle I don’t know how long I can…

Solution #2 – go internal. I must have some sort of vitamin deficiency which is causing my nails to peel. I head to Mothers, straight to the vitamin department. I go right up to the clerk and say “I need your very best finger nail vitamins.” He looks at me and goes “Ultra Nails.” I grab the biggest bottle and make my way out. It was pretty expensive, but Aubrey told me that good vitamins are expensive vitamins. I’ll take her word on it.

Ultra nails are all natural and gigantic! I take two a day every day and….they work! I am amazed at the results. My nails are not back to normal, but I totally notice a difference. I have been taking Ultra Nails for about a month now and am glad to report I have had 2 manicures. So happy. Thank you Ultra Nails!

Did you notice that we are matching? Ya, we planned it 🙂

Name of Blog – Suggestions?

The name of this blog “Happiness is Looking Like You” is an inside joke and we have come to terms that it probably does not translate well to our readers. Therefore we are looking for a new blog name and need your suggestions! Any ideas based off of who we are or what we post about?
